Production Manager
Production Manager needed in Madison, South DakotaThe Madison Daily Leader and Leader Printing, a division of Wick Communications Co.
, has an opening for production manager for its printing plant operation, which includes a 5-day a week press schedule including a daily, a shopper, special sections and approximately 40 other commercial print customers.
We are seeking a hands-on manager to lead and manage people.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the department, including pre-press operations, press - both a web leader quad unit newspaper press as well as a Heidelberg sheet fed press and mailroom/bindery.
Must have minimum of 5 years of management experience in a prepress/press production setting and must be a proficient press operator.
Knowledge of CtP is important as is knowledge of Mac and PC platforms.
Knowledge of InDesign would be a plus.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of web offset printing, sheet fed printing and press maintenance, and a well versed understanding of the plate process.
You must also understand purchasing practices, be able to set up effective inventory control procedures and be able to plan and implement a department budget.
We are looking for someone able to work well in a team environment with a commitment to quality printing.
